Same Kind of Different As Me is by authors, Ron Hall and Denver Moore. It is a nonfiction book about the lives of these two men and how God worked through Ron Hall’s wife to unite these two brothers together- one white and one black from two very different worlds.

I highly recommend this book.

It is really amazing how and when God uses people for His greater purpose and His works.

Prayer really works magic. Ron Hall, his wife and Denver Moore give us their testimonies of the power of prayer in this book. I couldn’t help but cry while reading this book. God is so powerful but what is more amazing is that, He is so loving. I hope He speaks to you just as He has to me through this book. 

It was so hard coming back here. I had way too much fun with family and friends.

It is terribly cold here. I definitely miss the 70 degree weather of LA.

I am sitting at a cafe right now with Lillian after church because Lillian told me that I need to organize my life. 

Can’t believe my winter break is basically over. One more week till I have to go back to St. Louis. I’m really looking forward to getting through another semester of grad school, but I don’t know if I’m very excited to go back to the city… I’m really going to miss LA and just REAL city life. 

I’m here in SF to do my second fieldwork. After spending a great Saturday night with Shirley, Lillian, Daniels 1 & 2, and Danny, I don’t want to start working. Boo. I have to leave the house at least by 6:30 AM to get to the center by 7AM. But, fieldworks seem to be valuable experiences so I look forward to that. And, I am loving SF! I love big and bustling cities! I can’t wait to walk around the city after work, eat good food with Lillian and just relax. That’s what I need before I start school.

This winter break was amazing. I felt so relaxed. I loved just staying at home, cleaning, cooking, baking, organizing. I just need to get married and stay home. I loved playing with my sisters. And also, this break, many of my friends came to visit me in Torrance! I realized that I have so many amazing friends! I loved spending time with each of them! So precious! I’m so excited for what God has in store for each of them.

Ok. I think my life is a little bit more organized. 

Not. Still have a week to do so! Cheers to a new year & semester! 

It was basically flurries… 

but still… it made my heart flutter! 

It really felt like winter. The best investment I made this winter is my Parka. 

The tag said – can survive in 0 to -20 degree weather. I think its true… I was so warm in it! Too bad my legs and face were freezing.

13 more days till I go home. Counting downnnnn

Its already December tomorrow! Can’t believe I only have 2.5 weeks left this semester! 
I thought it would take forever to get through my first semester here in St. Louis, but I’m already almost finished. Feels so weird! Its so much harder to get through the last few weeks of school after coming back from Thanksgiving break!

BUT. I’m back. I know I need to face reality. The loads of work I have to finish and all the tests I need to study for… OH gosh. I just wish someone would take me away for a long vacation.

Its getting so cold here! I was hoping it’ll snow this week, but the weatherman lied to me. It never snowed. It just rained. Boo. I’ve been complaining to people here how cold it is. Everyone just looks at me as if I’m crazy. They say its nothing compared to the weather I’ll be experiencing in Jan, Feb, March. Oh gosh, I’m not ready. I thought 40 degrees is bad. 

But, I really love winter nights! Its cold, but I love the crisp feeling and trees with no leaves in the dark looks somewhat like an artwork… if you know what I mean… 

Gotta get back to studying. 

P.S. I actually found something from St. Louis I will miss! Kayak’s Coffee! I strangely craved this coffee when I was back in LA! Weird!

Last weekend, was probably the hardest weekend to get through since I’ve come to St. Louis.

My youngest sister had a concussion and was admitted to the hospital. With my parents in Hawaii and only my second sister to take care of her, I felt so helpless as an older sister here in St. Louis. I had nothing I could do for them– even though I desperately wanted to drop everything here and take the next plane back to California. I realized that all I could do was pray for them– that God will take care of them. I literally cried all day on Friday– somehow, by the grace of God, I completed my presentation in class and attended a group meeting.

I miss my family so much.

I miss my church kids so much! I am so so thankful that I had the opportunity to serve them.

And today finally came. Today is the day we are in three different places…  This tunnel seems so dark, but I trust He is holding us and walking us through it. He’s making us grow in our own unique ways. All I can do is place my hope in Him and Trust Him.
